The salon software that reads the room, not just the calendar
You didn't open a salon to become a bookkeeper. Most booking tools tell you what happened — a client cancelled, a chair sat empty. Lumiere puts a number on the money that quietly left, then closes the gaps it can: smarter booking, books your accountant can trust, and the whole thing in your apron pocket.
Built for salons, aesthetics studios, barbers, and spas — where a booked chair is the whole business
The problem nobody puts a number on
Ask a salon owner how their week went and you'll hear "busy" or "quiet." Ask how much revenue they lost to no-shows, double-bookings, and one stylist running flat out while another read magazines, and the room goes silent — because pulling that number means exporting a spreadsheet that never gets exported.
Lumiere counts it. A stylist scheduled 8 hours but booked 3 is flagged Underutilized the same day. Your top earner at 95% is flagged Overbooked before they hand in notice. And the client your front desk forgot to call back? The AI assistant offers them real open slots in the same conversation, so the booking closes itself. You can't fix what you never counted.
What it actually does
Answers questions in plain English
Ask "which services made the most money last month and who did them?" and get an answer with a chart. An Orchestrator reads your intent and routes it to the right specialist — a Finance agent (owner-only), a Staff agent, or a Customer agent — then stitches multi-part answers together.
Protects the schedule from itself
The booking engine won't let two clients land on the same stylist at the same minute. It respects working hours, skips approved leave entirely, and pads a travel buffer after each appointment. Slots sit on a clean 30-minute grid; past times drop off automatically.
Rebalances the day so nobody breaks
One button. Lumiere finds the appointments marked flexible and moves them from the overbooked stylist to the one with room — only flexible bookings, only from Overbooked to Underutilized. Every move is logged with who, what, and when. A decision you can see, not a black box.
Keeps books you can hand to your accountant
Every appointment carries its price and duration, so revenue is a byproduct of the work you booked — not a number you type in later. Per-stylist earnings, expenses against revenue, and an audit trail with the user, role, and action behind every change. Numbers trace back to logged transactions, not memory.
Turns a photo into a booking
A customer uploads a picture of a nail set or a style they saw. The Customer agent reads it, suggests matching services, quotes price and duration, and walks them into checkout. Inspiration and transaction happen in one place, in one sitting.
Lives in your pocket, not just the front desk
A native app for iOS and Android, built mobile-first — not a desktop site squeezed onto a phone. Big touch targets (44×44px minimum), a thumb-friendly bottom nav, and screens that work on the salon floor. Check tomorrow's schedule from the sofa; see today's takings before you lock up.
Do the math on the back of a napkin
You don't need a business case — you need one honest number. Enter your average ticket and the empty or no-show slots you lose in a typical week. See what those quiet gaps cost you a year, and how much Lumiere could help you recover.
Adjustable assumption — set it to what fits your business.

Book a 20-min walkthroughRevenue lost vs. revenue saved — side by side
Small leaks, every day, add up to a number most salons never see. Lumiere makes it visible, then closes the leaks it can close on its own.
| What happens without you watching | What Lumiere does about it |
|---|---|
| Stylist booked 3 of 8 hours; nobody notices | Flags them Underutilized (<40%) the same day |
| Top stylist at 95%, heading for burnout | Flags them Overbooked (>90%) and offers to shift work |
| Two clients double-booked by mistake | Overlap check refuses the second booking outright |
| Client asks for a slot, front desk forgets to call back | AI assistant offers real open slots inside the chat |
| No-show leaves a hole nobody backfills | Freed slot returns to the pool immediately |
| Owner never runs the revenue report | Finance agent has it ready before you ask |
How the day gets graded
Nothing here is magic, and none of it is hidden. These are the real levers — utilization bands that decide who's flagged and when.
Who it's for
Owners who want the revenue and utilization picture without becoming spreadsheet analysts.
Managers who need to fix tomorrow's schedule tonight, in one screen.
Front-of-house staff who want the booking to close itself instead of chasing callbacks.
Customers who'd rather show a photo than describe a style, and book while they're excited.
Built for salons and aesthetics studios first — but the same engine runs for barbers, spas, and any business where a booked chair is the whole business.
The stuff you were about to ask
Is my data locked in if I ever leave?
No — it's your data. You can run Lumiere on your own store, and the AI layer works with Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic, so you're not chained to one vendor's pricing or ours. Nothing here is designed to make leaving painful.
How safe is the financial and client data?
Sensitive fields like card numbers never live in the app's front-end code, and access is enforced by database rules, not by hiding a button. Financial pages are owner-only at the route and again at the data layer — a staff login can't reach them even by typing the URL.
Will the AI invent numbers?
The revenue and utilization figures come from your actual bookings, not from a language model guessing. The AI reads and explains those numbers in plain English — it doesn't make them up. Repeated questions are served from a short cache (default 1-minute TTL) so you're never billed twice for the same answer.
How long until we're running?
An afternoon, not a project. Point Lumiere at your data, add one AI key, import your stylists, hours, and services, then ask it a question. No consultants camped in your back office. [Confirm onboarding time with the delivery team before publishing.]

For your technical team: the rules and settings you can actually see
Nothing here is hardcoded — these are the real levers your admins own.
| Setting | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Time-slot grid | Every 30 minutes | Generated across each stylist's working hours |
| Default appointment | 60 minutes | Each service can override it |
| Overlap rule | slotStart < existingEnd AND slotEnd > existingStart | Rejects the second booking outright |
| Travel buffer | Optional, per stylist | Pads the gap between appointments |
| AI response cache | 1-minute TTL | Repeated questions aren't billed twice |
| AI provider | Gemini / OpenAI / Anthropic | Routes by your keys — no rewrite to switch |
| Data store | VITE_USE_SUPABASE | Flip to false for a local sandbox — no cloud lock-in |
The rebalancer only moves flexible appointments, and only from an Overbooked stylist to an Underutilized one — it won't touch a fixed booking. Every meaningful action is logged with the user, role, action, and a plain description. Live ledger aggregation and one-click accountant export are on the near-term roadmap; today the figures come straight from your booking and expense records.
